Product/Services contract end dates

Hey,

Personally I think a missing feature, but I think WHMCS should have an option for product/services to have an expiry/contract end date (domains already have something that works similar). This would allow, especially for those using WHMCS for services other than domains/hosting to offer some point when a contract expires. As WHMCS are now openly on their main sales page (footer) promoting the product for ISP Billing and the likes, this is something that needs to seriously introduced.

In the meantime, does anyone know if their is a way to make this possible? Presently we hold contract end dates in our own local separate databases.

if the products/services were recurring, wouldn't the next due date effectively act as the expiry/contract end date?

either way, you could use the Email Marketer to contact your client at the relevant time - either x days before the NDD, or x days after the order date.

you could store end dates as a product custom field (perhaps admin only), but the Email Marketer wouldn't be able to use them.

Nope, not exactly.

As you know Brian, in the UK, we have broadband or mobile etc contracts that have a min of maybe 12 month, 18 month, 24 month contracts. Basically this is what we are trying to see if the system can manage.

Customer signs up for a product, say on a 12 month contract. The system then notes the "end of the min contract period". If the customer ends a contract early, the system then can work out what's left owing on the min contract (and bill accordingly based on the monthly product price etc).

Once the min contract has been completed, then of course the contract becomes rolling and the min contract becomes unrequired etc.

out of the box, I don't think it can handle that... parts perhaps, but not the whole thing.

i've seen an increasing number of posts on this topic over the last year or two.
