Disable payment gateway for domains

Recommended Posts

Hi there. I have installed and activated the PayPal gateway and enabled it for some hosting products. However I also noticed a few clients now using it to pay for their domains. This creates an issue since Paypal is much more expensive than the other payment methods.

How can I disable PayPal for domain registration and renewal?

certainly for new registrations, you're looking at an action hook or template edit...

i'd imagine the {if} statement from the code below would still work, though the rest would depend on your current template (code is 3 years old, so the rest of the template code will now be different).

or for some more recent code, it's going to be the opposite of...

for domain renewals, i'll have to have a ponder... if only because there is literally nothing to stop a client receiving a renewal invoice and paying you via directly from the PayPal site.

Hi,

As brian! has alluded to, there isn't an potion for this as standard; all payment methods with "Show on Order" option enabled can be used to pay for domain registrations. But it could potentially be achieved by way of a template customisation.
